COMBINING SCIENCE WITH DELICIOUS FOOD
BANT Registered Nutritionist® and Nutritional Therapy practitioner
BSc Nutritional Therapy, Dip BCNH, mBANT, CNHC
BA (Hons) Psychology
I am a fully qualified nutritional therapist and nutritionist, registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT).
I have a BSc in Nutritional Therapy from the University of West London and hold a level 6 Diploma from the British College of Nutrition and Health. In addition, I have a BA (Hons) in Psychology and my goal is to integrate my training in both nutrition and psychology to help people live healthier and happier lives.
I regularly attend seminars, courses and conferences to ensure my work is based on the most up-to-date scientific research and to further deepen and broaden my knowledge.
I offer individualised 1-2-1 nutritional therapy consultations either in person in my London clinic or online via zoom.
With an extensive background in the food and hospitality industry, great tasting, nutritious food is at the heart of what I do and my aim is to to combine my love for food with nutrition and lifestyle advice to help people find joy in eating delicious, nutritious food.
I have a special interest in gastrointestinal health, stress management,
cognitive health and emotional wellbeing and the fundamental connections between our physical and mental wellbeing.
I truly believe that nutrition is a crucial part of our health, but that it doesn't have to be complicated and add stress or anxiety.
There are so many aspects of our lives which need to be considered in order to truly feel well and nutrition is an essential part, but not the only one.
By integrating nutrition and lifestyle interventions, my goal is to help people live healthier and happier lives.
Nutritional therapy uses nutrition and lifestyle tools to promote health and wellbeing
Nutritional therapy is described as the application of nutrition science in order to promote individual care, health and optimal performance.
It is today recognised as a complementary medicine and can benefit both individuals with chronic health conditions, as well as healthy individuals who are looking to achieve optimal health and enhanced performance.
My practice is based on a functional medicine approach, where the aim is to find the root cause of an individual's health concerns rather than focusing on just treating the symptoms. By addressing the root cause instead of the symptoms presented, the complexity of health concerns and potential imbalances can begin to be identified. One symptom often has several causes and one cause can lead to several symptoms or health concerns.
Functional medicine can in this way help bring an understanding of symptoms and health concerns and how it is all connected.
This is facilitated for example by using pattern recognition, taking a thorough client history and, at times, also through functional testing.
Find out more about functional medicine here.
I practice personalised nutrition and each individual is therefore treated as unique and the nutrition and lifestyle recommendations given are tailored and personalised to each individual. I really do believe that "no one size fits all" and although there are certain fundamental needs for all of us, what might be beneficial for one person may not be helpful for someone else.
Nutritional therapy is not just about healthy eating, it relies on science and the latest research and evidence available and is a safe and effective therapy.

What is the difference between a registered nutritional therapist & a nutritionist?
Working as a nutritional therapist includes seeing clients on a 1-2-1 basis in clinic, giving individualised, personalised nutrition and lifestyle advice.
On the other hand nutritionist work is non-clinical and can for example include working in the food industry, scientific research as well as government work.
Due to the differences between the work involved in these nutrition professions, these nutrition titles are used separately, depending on the work involved.
I am registered as a nutritional therapy practitioner with BANT but may use the job title BANT registered nutritionist®, depending on the nature of each specific project and the work involved.

"My experience of working with Jessica has been life changing.
I am a middle aged woman who has dealt with allergy symptoms as well as gut problems for many years which really came to affect my life in several ways. I have seen numerous doctors over the years and gone through a wide range of conventional testing to get to the bottom of my health concerns, this without any real result. I have gone through test after test without ever really finding out what was the issue for me which I often found hard as I really wanted to get to the bottom of what might be causing my symptoms. As the problems escalated and got worse over the years they also began to really affect both my work life and private life. Six months ago I therefore decided to try a different route to feel better and I contacted Jessica who straight away took my problems seriously, really listened to me and was very understanding of my problems. Through our online meetings, mapping my diet and doing simple tests, Jessica could see patterns and analyse what was going on for me.
Jessica helped me understand the impacts of nutrition and lifestyle and gradually helped me make changes which to me have been life changing. I started noticing changes almost straight away and after years of suffering, my allergy and gut problems have been eradicated within just a few months. Jessica has helped me manage diet and lifestyle changes which I never would have thought of myself but which have had an impact I didn’t think possible and she has been a fantastic support to me the whole time. I have got my life back and for that I am forever grateful to Jessica. She is extremely competent, knowledgeable, attentive, warm, empathetic and professional and always made me feel comfortable and at ease. I really can not recommend Jessica highly enough and I hope that someone else, who might be in a similar situation to where I was a few months ago, might read this."

"Jess first joined GAIL’s NPD team, as a consultant, early last year.
We were busy reinventing our seasonal chilled food offer (breakfast and deli pots, salads, lunch boxes and soups) and were lacking a strong nutritional agenda to complete it.
Jess started by helping us understand the ideal nutritional balance for every concept and then, very sensitively, ushered us throughout the development process and reviewed every single recipe we came up with.
She highlighted areas that needed fixing and suggested creative ways on how to improve those, while staying true to our initial concepts and recipes.
With Jess’ scientific knowledge and deep understanding of our business commercial values, we ended up with 30 brand new recipes which stood the tests of taste and brand.
Whilst we in GAIL’s, were always committed to cooking simple food using the best ingredients, it’s thanks to Jess that we now can do so with a solid nutritional view in mind.
Since then, Jess has joined us every time we adapt our recipes and we simply can’t imagine developing a new recipe without having her input on what we create."

“Jess has helped us on a number of important projects over recent years. As well as providing nutritional analysis of dishes we have created, she has also made recipe and menu suggestions and added to the creative process. Jess gets things done, and realises that our clients expect a fast turnaround and error free analysis and input. She never fails to deliver and is for sure, our 'go to' expert."
"I had the pleasure of working with Jessica on a menu development project for a large F&B outlet in the UK. Jessica was very professional and efficient delivering all the nutritional information the client needed. She communicated very clearly her needs to achieve the work and the deliverables. I would love to work with Jessica again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for nutritional advice and professional consultancy."
